Curriculum for Excellence

At HampdenSchool we have been involved in the implementation of the new Curriculum for Excellence for several years as one of the pilot schools.

As part of this process the school has moved away from using the guidelines of the Elaborated 5-14 Curriculum and has been using the Outcomes and Experiences of Curriculum for Excellence to plan and assess work for pupils on an individual basis.

Curriculum for Excellence was rolled out to all nursery, primary and secondary schools across Scotland in August 2010.

The aim of Curriculum for Excellence is to raise attainment in all Scottish schools and to enable all pupils the opportunity to develop as:

Successful Learners

 Confident Individuals

 Responsible Citizens

Effective Contributors
